Caleigh is an Asian-American artist from Kansas City, Missouri, and is currently getting her Post-Baccalaureate at The University of Colorado Boulder. She earned her BFA in ceramics at the Kansas City Art Institute. Caleigh’s work focuses on the combination of glass and ceramic material through both tile and vessel forms. In many of her works, Caleigh uses flowers to symbolize her Lola, Tagalog for “Grandmother,” who helped raise her. Flowers are the lens in which Caleigh explores her identity and Filipino heritage. Her work has been exhibited at the Albrecht Kemper at St. Joseph, MO, and she has also been awarded a William Lee Scholarship, a national ceramic award, in 2024. Caleigh is influenced by the world around her, and wishes to capture the awe-inspiring power of nature through her figurative sculpture. She is currently working on continuing to develop her technique of combining glass and ceramic.
